Meet Nick
Democrat for County Commissioner
Send a West Sider, not a business insider to represent you in Kent County
I am a born and raised proud West Michigan resident, deeply connected to the community through both personal and professional life. I am married to Megan (Stanitzek), part of a longtime Westsider Polish family, and we are expecting their first child—who will be the first grandchild on both sides of the family. This personal milestone has deepened my commitment to making Kent County a better place for future generations.
As an attorney, I started my career by founding a law firm that helped medical professionals launch and manage their practices. This gave me firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by business owners and those who dedicate their lives to caring for others. Presently, I serve as Corporate Counsel for Hope Network, a nonprofit organization that provides essential services to individuals who are working to overcome incredible personal challenges and need help. This is more than just a profession, it’s a calling to support those who are most in need, ensuring they receive the care and dignity they deserve.
As a Democratic candidate for Kent County Commissioner, I am driven by a simple but powerful belief:
being a good neighbor means working tirelessly to improve the community for everyone.
Good neighbors make great communities, and that’s what I strive to achieve by drawing on my legal background and experience in the private and nonprofit sector, I am focused on practical solutions that address the real needs of Kent County residents whether it’s advocating for children’s education, expanding housing options, improving public transit, or supporting local jobs.
